Graffiti Village
2006
Print on Canvas

Graffiti Village, which is also known as Toxic Cottage was created in 2006. Banksy took an old painting and modified it by doing graffiti on houses.
This piece is exhibited in Banksy’s Barely Legal Exhibition, Los Angeles, 2006.
In these hijacked traditional oil paintings, the artist inserts his iconic stencil figures into Old Masters works.
Banksy has successfully placed these artworks into exhibitions of respected museums and art galleries around the world, including The Louvre, The Tate, The British Museum and New York’s Museum of Modern Art.
