This artwork is one of Banksy’s most iconic images, with death portrayed as a friendly, acid house smiley face. Banksy’s archival print was first released in 2005 and existed as a graffiti piece on Old Street, London, of the Grin Reaper, also with a smiley face. 

The work was originally part of ‘‘pop up shop’’ exhibitions by Banksy.
